Siesta Key Beach

Free · public parking fills by 10am

The one you've seen in photos. The sand is 99% pure quartz, so it stays cool and squeaks underfoot — genuinely unusual, not just marketing. Wide, flat, and busy on weekends. Best for a first-timer's classic Sarasota day.

Lido Beach

Free · metered lot, easier parking

Closer to downtown and St. Armands Circle, with noticeably less crowding than Siesta. A calmer swimming pace and easy access if you're staying near downtown Sarasota rather than the keys.

Longboat Key Beaches

Mostly resort/condo access

Quiet by design — much of the shoreline sits behind private condos and resorts, with a handful of public access points. Go here for stillness, not for a boardwalk scene.

Turtle Beach

Free · smaller lot

Coarser, shell-flecked sand and far fewer visitors — the trade-off for the best shelling on Siesta Key. Also the only Siesta Key beach with an RV/camping area nearby.
